My friend Phil called me a few weeks ago and told me about this web-based marketplace for IT outsourced work. It's kind of like eBay, where buyers and sellers come together, but in this case it's skilled nerds people and who have nerd work to be done.I went there and created my profile. Here's what it looks like. In order to begin getting some work, I first need to establish a business ID package, perhaps a business license, and get some liability insurance.
The benefit is, there's always work out there, lots of it is local (I checked), and most pay fairly well. The marketplace pretty much sets the rates.
I'd recommend using this site if you're looking for some extra income, don't mind working at a job site (often times in people's homes), and can get up and do the work now.
